Financial Controller

An immediate vacancy has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the position of Financial Controller for Megabyte Ltd and its subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the person chosen for this role will lead a team of finance department staff and will be required to support the Chief Executive Officer in logistics, legal, commercial, HR and administrative functions.

THE ROLE

Specific responsibilities will include the management of all financial and management accounting activities including:

• Full command and management of the Company’s accounting function including the day-to-day running of the finance department
• Preparation of a monthly management reporting package including the annual consolidated financial statements for statutory audit purposes
• Preparation of periodic budgets, cash-flow management and forecasting
• Allocation of revenues and costs by activity/project in the various departments and business units
• On-going analysis of bottom line performance of commercial activities/projects and to report thereon
• On-going development of Credit Management and Control policies and Credit risk assessment
• Running the Company’s Payroll System 
• Carrying out of investment and/or project appraisals, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, in conjunction with other Business or Services Unit Heads for the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer
• Ensuring full utilisation and optimisation of financial benefits from the Business Promotion Act and EU funded grants schemes
• Ensure full regulatory and statutory compliance within the local legal framework
• Spearhead the further development of financial and cost reporting applications using the group‘s ERP software – Microsoft Dynamics GP
• Constant liaison  with the group’s bankers for all matters connected with the Company’s trade and affairs
• Maintenance and improvement of internal control procedures
• Liaison with external auditors as necessary for interim and annual statutory Audits

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on financial management professional holding a recognised accountancy qualification. Preferably a warrant holder with at least 5 years post qualification experience in a professional services or a contract based industry, the selected applicant will be the one who can demonstrate strong technical ability (e.g. IFRS’s, BPA and EU funds rules and condition handling), precision and a sharp analytical mind. Must be a leader and a role model with excellent communication skills.

Advanced computer literacy is a must in one or more technology tools and applications (e.g. MS-Excel, MS Dynamics GP, SAGE, SUN, SAP, Oracle. etc.,) relative to the finance function.
