After 11 years at the helm, John Ambrogio, has “passed on the baton” to Mr van Beckum  but will continue working with Megabyte  to assist the new CEO in the early months of his tenure  to ensure a professional handover and continuity in all operational and commercial matters.

As line manager, he worked for Germany’s biggest IT service provider and for seven years he was CEO of the IT branch of RWE, a major utility company in Germany. As from January 2009, Mr. van Beckum has taken residence in Malta.

On speaking about this CEO succession process, Mr Thomas Galea, Chairman of the Megabyte Group, thanked Mr Ambrogio for his dedicated work by saying: “His continuous development of the talents of Megabyte’s people, maintaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction have been at the forefront of Megabyte’s culture”. Mr Galea also welcomed Mr. van Beckum observing: “Mr van Beckum’s more than 20 years of experience in different IT management positions will be invaluable for us in this next chapter of international growth for Megabyte.”.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr van Beckum said, “I am delighted to have been chosen by the Megabyte Board to lead the Company and plan to continue building on the achievements made during the time of Mr. Ambrogio and of his predecessors.  In these critical times, I regard the providing of professional IT services and products with the highest professional dedication at minimal cost, as a key essential for growth and profitability. I know that the key to the continued success of Megabyte will be creating value for its customer in aligning IT with business to strengthen competitiveness.
