The SDLT 600 is designed for the customer whose data protection needs are outgrowing the capacity of their existing SDLT drives. The SDLT 600 provides almost double the capacity and performance of the SDLT 320.

The HP StorageWorks SDLT 600 Tape Drive offers a reliable DLT-based backup solution. With 600 GB capacity compressed, the SDLT 600 provides the highest capacity point available for customers who have standardized on DLT technology. The SDLT 600 Tape Drive has a transfer rate of 72MB/sec compressed. The native capacity is 300 GB, and the uncompressed transfer rate is 36MB/s.

The SDLT 600 Tape Drive is supported by HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools (L&TT) for installing, managing and troubleshooting the drive and media. It is compatible with HP Data Protector, HP Data Protector Express, native Windows, Backup Exec, ARCServe and other backup software applications. The SDLT 600 Tape Drive is read compatible with the HP StorageWorks SDLT 320 media.

The SDLT 600 supports One Button Disaster Recovery (OBDR), which dramatically reduces downtime in the case of a disaster. This drive has the new Ultra 160 SCSI Interface, the fastest parallel SCSI interface available. It offers the improved Digital Data Rate Response Agent that supports a new 16 channel read write head. The SDLT 600 also offers improved tape manageability and increased reliability over previous-generation SDLT drives.
