Megabyte Ltd. has successfully implemented of the Oracle eBusiness Suite at Air Malta, Malta’s national airline who has now joined the ranks of a select number of airlines who are already benefiting from the world class, web-enabled Oracle core Financial Accounting and Management solution.

Implementation was completed following a tight 8-month implementation project led by Megabyte, Oracle Partner for Malta, who teamed up with consultants from DNATA - Emirates Group, to complement Megabyte’s technical expertise with the requisite Airline expertise and implementation methodology so vital to the success of this project.

Solution description

The Oracle eBusiness Suite implemented and now in full use at Air Malta comprises the following modules:

• General Ledger,

• Accounts Payable,

• Accounts Receivable,

• Fixed Assets,

• Cash Management,

• Purchasing and Inventory.

• An Airline Route Profitability System fully developed by Megabyte Ltd, was designed and engineered using the latest Oracle technology set and was fully and tightly integrated with Oracle eBusiness Suite modules mentioned above and commissioned with them on the same go-live date.

Business Benefits

The benefits expected through the new systems include standardized and streamlined procedures, improved productivity and greater cost-efficiency. The system, which is now operational at the airline’s Luqa Head Office, as well as the Air Malta’s London office will have subsequent roll-outs in the remaining major overseas offices.

The project had the tightest timeframes and even tighter budgets, but through the dedication and professionalism of all stakeholder and team members, Air Malta now has world class financial information systems. An achievement that was only possible through the collective synergies of all those involved in the execution of this project
