The Corinthia San Gorg and Corinthia Marina have recently gone live on Micros Opera Enterprise Suite. The project included a complete make-over of their IT infrastructure ranging from their desktop PCs up to state of the art HP Servers rack mount equipment and Property Management System.

The OPERA Property Management Solution, was deployed as a multi-property configuration, and hosted in a centralised data centre located within one of the hotels infrastructure to cater for both properties. This hosted solution facilitates their business unit autonomy and enhances their operations while supporting individual PMS database systems for each property. OPERA also extended their versatility by integrating seamlessly with all their existing facilities, allowing them to gain total control and perform accurate monitoring from a single consol. With dedicated bidirectional interfacing with OPERA, managing their Call accounting system, mini-bars, door locking system, pay-tv systems, POS and back-office software were part of the project deliverables and made for a fully integrated seamless operation.

The Corinthia San Gorg complex boasts extensive conference and incentive facilities, to the extent that the top two executive floors are entirely dedicated as a fully fledged business centre reserved specifically for receptions, conferences, meetings and business activities. Introducing OPERA Sales and Catering for the first time, incorporated non-traditional tools for Corinthia, allowing them to manage their Hotel’s sales and catering environment in their own unique way. The management and sales and catering staff are now able to perform all the tasks expected of them with greater ease: organising banquets and conferences, sell extensive package rates, posting of charges and creating complex billing instructions are now unencumbered by conventional processes, allowing them to be freed up to find new sales and to service their guest.

For total system completeness, Corinthia invested in latest technology MICROS 9700 Hotel Management System and POS workstations distributed throughout the restaurants and retail outlets within their establishments. To extend their network connectivity reach throughout all their open air bars and restaurants, 22 outlets in total, distributed around the complex, wireless POS stations will be utilized for their extensive pool deck and beach outlets.

Through the scalability and flexibility of MICROS 9700 HMS and Wireless POS mobility, Corinthia combined flexibility, advanced technologies, practicality, reliability and extensive reporting facility to ensure smooth operation even in the most complex situations. Using the MICROS 9700 Hotel Management System Reporting Suite, the management team gained access to real-time business intelligence for all food and beverage outlets, including elaborate financial metrics and individual menu item sales. MICROS 9700 combined with OPERA Materials control, proved to be the key to effective cost savings and efficiency in having real-time F&B management information. OPERA Materials Control provided the solution to effectively manage all their property inventory bringing efficiencies to their daily workflow and managing food costs.
