platform for
the delivery
of Web-based
services.

included the
required
Compaq/HP
hardware,
Microsoft
system and
layered
software as
well as the
installation,
connection,
configuration
and testing
of CISCO
active
equipment,
to complete
the whole
setup to the
satisfaction
of MITTS
Ltd.
Solution
Description
Two
Windows
2000
Advanced
servers
installed
with ISA
Enterprise
Edition
Server,
act as
Reverse
Proxy
Servers.
For
performance
and
resiliency
the
servers
are
configured
for
network
load
balancing.
The
Reverse
Proxy
Servers
are the
only
servers
from the
framework
visible
to the
end user
on the
Internet.
Their
function
is to
cache
the most
used web
content
in order
to
minimize
the load
on the
rest of
the
framework,
and to
manage
virtual
domain
names.
The
Reverse
proxy
servers
connects
to the
Web
Cluster
Servers,
through
the
Borderware
Firewall,
to gain
access
to web
content
to
display
to the
end user
on the
Internet.
The Web
Cluster
Servers
consist
of two
servers
installed
with
Windows
2000
Advanced
server
and
Application
Centre
2000.
Both
servers
are
configured
for
network
load
balancing.
The
function
of the
Web
Cluster
Servers
is to
build
web
pages on
request
from the
Internet
user by
getting
information
from the
DBMS
server.
The DBMS
server
is based
on SQL
Server
2000. A
cold
standby
server
is also
available,
with
data
between
the two
servers
being
replicated
continuously.

framework
was an

component
required for
the
launching of
Web-based
applications
and the
Megabyte
solution
enabled
MITTS to
deliver the

functionality
as part of
the
deployment
