Overview

The HP ProLiant ML310 G3 Storage Server is an entry-level tower-based networked attached storage (NAS) solution that is both rapid to deploy and easy to use. Providing networked storage and support for multi-protocol file sharing and print serving which is ideal for a small workgroup, small business or a remote office. The hardware is preconfigured and the Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 operating system is preinstalled allowing deployment in minutes. The operating system also includes storage specific management tools for ease-of-use. In a small user environment, the ML310 G3 Storage Server acts as a file server hosting local user files and as a local print server. With the optional HP ProLiant Storage Server iSCSI Feature Pack, the ML310 G3 Storage Server can also host block based storage for Exchange, SQL, and Oracle databases. For business continuity, optional HP OpenView Storage Mirroring software can be used to replicate data to and from the ML310 G3 Storage Server.

Screening, Storage Reporting: Allows administrator to set directory quotas and filter out unwanted content, and generate reports on disk usage, wasted space, file ownership and security.

Remote manageability: Administrators can manage the storage server functions remotely via a web GUI or remote desktop. Administrators can also manage and monitor the storage server hardware components via an Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI 2.0) compliant management port.

Windows Storage Server 2003 Operating System pre-installed: Plug and play integration into the network. Fully integrated with Microsoft Active Directory and Distributed File System (DFS) environments.
