Overview

The HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services Clustered Gateway delivers superior file serving performance that allows you scale your file serving performance in a linear fashion as nodes are added. In the event of a node failure, all file serving is failed over to the remaining nodes and complete session state is maintained with full data and cache coherency. The foundation of the HP StorageWorks Clustered File System is an architecture that is fully symmetrical meaning all nodes see the entire file system which means there are no hot-spots. This solution has been tested and is being used in a wide variety of customer environments. The solution is built with industry standard components and not proprietary H/W and software so you can leverage your existing SAN infrastructure. HP delivers this solution at a leading $ per MB/second cost. The solution is scalable which means that you can purchase only the file serving capability you require and add nodes as you need them.

Features

Growth or Scalability: Scale from 2 to 16 nodes and achieve a linear increase in file serving throughput performance and client support. Purchase the file serving throughput that you need today with the ability to easily add performance and throughput as your business needs grow. Select either a Linux of WSS2003 OS version to meet your file serving needs

High Availability: With a fully symmetrical cluster architecture, cluster integrity can be maintained in the event of a single or multiple node failure. Failover from one node to another happens quickly and the client is unaware that a failure has occurred as file serving is failed over to all remaining nodes. There is no single point of failure

Performance: Each node provides approximately 125 MB/second sequential write performance. The architecture is optimised for both read and write performance

Optimised NFS for Linux version with support for CIFS; or scalable CIFS for WSS2003 version: Cache coherency and data integrity is maintained in the event of a single or multiple node failure. Clients are failed over transparently and uniformly distributed across the cluster to ensure optimal load balancing and uninterrupted file serving

Maintainability: When you want to upgrade hardware, software or firmware, you have the ability to temporarily remove a node from the cluster. Cluster integrity is maintained as file serving requests are failed over to the remaining nodes. After the upgrade is completed simply re-insert the node back into the cluster

Manageability features description

With a fully symmetrical file system you can manage the cluster from any node or remotely from a Windows or Linux workstation. Perform rolling upgrades of individual nodes by removing nodes from the cluster and then re-inserting them into the cluster. This can be done without any disruption to clients or concern about data integrity with the failover over capabilities that are part of the architecture

Features 01

Growth without limits: Scale from 2 to 16 nodes and achieve a nearly linear increase in NFS file serving throughput performance and NFS client support. Purchase the file serving throughput that you need today with the ability to easily add performance and throughput as your business needs grow

Features 03

Performance: Each node provides approximately 125 MB/second sequential write performance. The architecture is optimized for both read and write performance

Features 02

High Availability: With a fully symmetrical cluster architecture, cluster integrity can be maintained in the event of a single or multiple node failure. Failover from one node to another happens quickly and the client is unaware that a failure has occurred as the session state is transparently failed over to all of the remaining nodes. There is no single point of failure

Features 04

Optimised NFS: Cache coherency and lock integrity are maintained in the event of a single or multiple node failure. NFS clients are uniformly distributed across the cluster to ensure optimal load balancing
