Role Description

The role entails taking an active part in the business analysis, gap analysis, planning, solution design, implementation, integration, customer training and support of Oracle ERPs both on-premise and cloud. The candidate will be expected to have past experience in delivering and maintaining such Oracle products.

The ideal candidate must have in depth knowledge of functional domains such as: General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and Forecasting, Budgeting, Intercompany Accounting, Budgetary Control, Subledger Accounting SLA, Treasury Management, Tax Management, Financial Consolidation, Cost Management amongst others. Experience and demonstrable knowledge of other domains such as Procurement, Inventory, Order Management, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Project Management, Risk Management, ERP Analytics, Enterprise Performance Management modules of Oracle Cloud ERP are highly desirable. The candidate must also possess expertise in executing and supporting testing, defects analysis and fixing in sync with product development and support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Oracle ERP Technical Consultant, you are expected to:

    • Provide expertise on projects and initiatives involving Oracle Cloud ERP modules, as well as its integration with other internal and external boundary applications;
    • Identify gaps and present solution options to business based on the Oracle Cloud ERP products and best practices;
    • Ensure that all capabilities delivered align with original business objectives, application service levels, IT strategies, and design intent;
    • Develop an understanding of client’s current state processes and develop future state recommendations;
    • Work with the client’s different business units to capture and map business requirements to Oracle Cloud ERP functionality. Identify gaps and advise clients on options, risks, and value propositions;
    • Be engaged in Pre-Sales activities and writing of technical proposals;
    • Produce the estimations of the solution and be involved in the high-level planning and implementation methodology of the project;
    • Be accountable for the generation and accuracy of the requirements document as well as the Oracle Cloud ERP configuration;
    • Configure Oracle Cloud ERP as part of the implementation, ensure that the implementation meets the solution design and aligns with Oracle Cloud ERP implementation recommended best practices;
    • Plan, coordinate, test and perform Data Migrations from a variety of sources into the Oracle Cloud ERP;
    • Participate in functional design sessions with business users from multiple geographical regions and functional areas;
    • Integrate requirements from multiple design sessions and teams into the ERP system design;
    • Develop use and test cases to test the implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP, and participate in the execution of such test cases;
    • Provide support to testing team and end-users during the various test cycles; remediation and/or disposition of test case failures or anomalies;
    • Be able to conduct training for clients and internally;
    • Align departmental policies and procedures with Oracle Cloud ERP system processes, policies and procedures in the solution implementation.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science or a relevant field;
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle Cloud ERP implementation;
  • Possess outstanding presentation and verbal/written communication skills in English;
  • Must be an excellent team player;
  • Demonstrable experience in participating in Oracle Cloud ERP implementations as a Functional and/or Technical Consultant; 2 implementations minimum, with at least 1 implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP;
  • Thorough understanding of operational financial controls and accounting processes as well as deep functional knowledge of the Oracle Cloud ERP and potentially Oracle EBS modules;
  • Expert knowledge of financial system integration and overall ERP development, testing and support;
  • Excellent business analysis skills including the ability to gather and document requirements, provide expertise to analyse client business requirements and suggest solutions to meet these requirements through the delivered configuration.

Our selection process

A shortlist is drawn up for those candidates that meet the criteria set for the role and a first interview is conducted to assess the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role.

A technical assessment will be sent out to those candidates that were successful in their first interview. The top performing candidates will progress to the final interview with the respective General Manager.

A decision will be taken after a thorough assessment of these final candidates.
